Select
Select is for pointing at slots on the grid, then changing them. You can start with nothing logged. Each slot is a block of time — 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. Highlight slots and edit them in the panel on the right, or copy and paste like a spreadsheet. A slot (or a group) is always highlighted. When you switch to select, the top-left slot is selected by default. Escape does not clear it. There is no brush.
The panel shows what’s in the highlight: primary activity (what you were mainly doing), secondary (optional, something else in the same slot), and dimensions (optional extras you add yourself, like who, where, or mood).
Paint fills slots by dragging. This page is desktop; phone is a note at the end.
Click a slot to highlight it. Click and drag to highlight several. The highlight is what you are about to change.
The panel follows the highlight
Change one field and that field updates on every highlighted slot. The other fields stay as they are. If you only change primary, secondary and dimensions do not move.
If a field has more than one value in the highlight, it shows mixed until you set it.
If the highlight is empty and you set a primary, those slots get filled. Same idea if they already have something: set primary, and primary updates.
Copy, paste, undo, and keys
Treat the grid like a sheet.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Copy | ⌘C | Ctrl+C |
| Paste | ⌘V | Ctrl+V |
| Undo | ⌘Z | Ctrl+Z |
| Redo | ⌘⇧Z | Ctrl+Shift+Z |
Works on one slot or several. A clipboard badge shows up only in select. Dragging does not paste.
Arrow keys move the highlight. Shift + arrows grow it. Keys only work in select, on desktop.
Presets
A preset is a saved primary, plus any secondary and dimensions.
In select, with slots highlighted, picking a preset applies it to that highlight.
Locked days
Some days are locked so you don’t accidentally change them.
You can still highlight, copy, and move around. Edits on locked days are skipped. There is no warning.
On a phone
There is no tool strip.
- Brush armed: drag paints.
- Brush not armed: scrolling moves the grid.
- Long-press empty space for more options.
Paint instead
Use paint when you want to fill many slots at once by dragging.
Ready to log your time?
Open the grid and fill a few slots.
